Sarvam - Mighty stroke by Yuvan
IndiaGlitz  [Wednesday, March 04, 2009]

It's a grandiloquent smack by Yuvan-Vishnu Vardhan-Arya and exactly the trio-combo is up with a hat-trick followed by 'Arindhum Ariyamalum' and 'Pattiyal'. Every melody varies on with unique genres with the most adept sound programming. Yuvan is on with a mind-boggling piece of album that would get you transfixed for the first time you listen.

1. Adada Vaa Asathala - Listen here

Singer: Illayaraja

Lyricist: Pa Vijay

An exceptional mix of Jazzy-Rock with Maestro's colossal voice makes it all swaying from alpha till omega. Gotta hear these philosophical lines penned by Pa. Vijay. They're patently enlivening for the listeners and induce a feel of heeding to it more times. On the very outset, you've the lyrics stating 'Life is a basket of Flowers' that's more similar to the famous dialogues in Forrest Gump 'Life is box of chocolates, you don't know what you gonna get'...  Preludes picked on flute blended with stunning rhythmic beats turns the spotlights. Precisely, it's an awesomely orchestrated piece of melody that's sure to sizzle once on screens...

2. Neethanae - Listen here

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyricist: Pa Vijay

Swinging on high with his recent chartbuster 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', the young lad is yet back again with his top-notching vocalism. Synthesized beats are regular on its course and much before the interlude commences out with beautiful notes on Harpsichord. Well, it's clichéd tune on preludes that's been played on running notes on stringed instruments. On the buttons, it's Yuvan's voice that shines all throughout the show. Moreover, Yuvan's style on intonation is a bit-alike his earlier composition of 'En Kannodu' for Arindhum Ariyamalum...

3. Sutta Suriyanae - Listen here

Singer: Vijay Yesudas

Lyricist: Pa Vijay

Does it all sound quite puzzling as you read the tagline on top? Maybe for the ardent buffs of Illayaraja and Yesudas, it's elatedness on whole. Yeah! The song has been inspired from Maestro's yesteryear composition of 'Megam Karukudhu' that had Yesudas crooning. And now, we've their heirs gearing up an equivalently stunning piece partially inspired from the original version. It's a song out with such lyrics that centers on freeing one's soul out from hopelessness and tribulations.

4. Kaatrukullai - Listen here

Singer: Yuvan Shankar Raja

Lyricist: Pa Vijay

A song of pathos on an anguished soul yearning out for his lost love and Pa. Vijay has penned a heart-melting lyric. It's one more on the album with Yuvan crooning with his unique style. Perhaps, it would have been more in effect if either Karthik or KK had rendered their voices. Heed to the fantastic rhythm of water-drops perfectly engineered; they're splendid ones.

5. Siragugal - Listen here

Singer: Javed Ali, Madhushree

Lyricist: Pa Vijay

With simplistic and mild beat percussions blended for rhythms, its voices of Javed Ali and Madhushree that shines all throughout. Altho' not so appealing on the tunes, it may take U-turns on the screens with accordance to Nirav's trenchant pictorials.

Fine! Yuvan stuns with a blend of sang-froid ambience that later on the 40th second transcends into a spine-tingling feel. Precisely, when heard on perfect sound systems with maximum volume, it would throw you high on the floors. A magnetizing signature that slightly carries off with the traces of Billa's theme music...

The complete theme of Sarvam is so intensely revealing with this piece of music that starts off with jolly-ridden feel that turns into a panorama of panic-stricken ones.

Final Take

On the whole, Yuvan's melodies would turn to be the chartbusters of the season and any guesses about best picks. For now, 'Adada Vaa Asathala' would go straight onto everyone's music library on their I-pods and mobiles. 'Sutta Suriyana' is one more song that enlivens the feel while Signature Music would rock on the air.

Verdict: Effectually brilliant...
