K Bhagiyaraj, the ‘king of screenplay’ is filled with optimism these days. The reason is his forthcoming film ‘Siddu Plus Two First Attempt’, starring his son Santhanu in lead role. “You can find a new Bhagiyaraj in the movie,” he says.
Elaborating more, he says, “I am keen to make it big in Tamil cinema again and ‘Siddu…’ will be a nice start to it. It is a youthful script that would cater to the present day audience. Though Santhanu is just one film old, he has delivered his best to the role.”
The movie features newcomer Chandni opposite Santhanu. The script revolves around a young lad and a girl who belong to different cities. They run away from their homes after they fail in the Plus Two examinations. Both of them meet each other and what happens after that has been narrated in a jovial manner.
“The movie has come out well and will be lapped up by youngsters. Audience would find it interesting, entertaining and enthralling. I am hopeful that ‘Siddu…’ would take Santhanu to the masses,” the ace filmmaker adds.
On his part, Santhanu says, “Though my father is a filmmaker whom I grew up watching, I had a fear when I started to work. He is a thorough professional and knows how to extract the best out of his colleagues.”
Describing Bhagiyaraj as her mentor, Chandni says, “It is a great learning experience to be part of Bhagiyaraj sir’s film. He taught me the basics of acting and sharpened my skills. I am happy that my debut movie is with such a veteran.”
Dharan, who impressed everyone with his soft melodies in ‘Parijatham’, has scored music. He says, “Working with Bhagiyaraj has been a delight. He has a great knack in identifying the right tunes. His knowledge in music is in-depth.” The rest of the cast comprises Senthil, 'Ganja' Karuppu, newcomers Anirudh, Vishnu, Rajesh, Thalaivasal Vijay, Manobala and Anumohan. Rasamadhi handles the cinematography while T S R Subhash takes care of editing.
The film was shot across exotic locales in Chennai, Palani and Hyderabad and the song sequences were shot on the beaches of Bangkok. The movie produced by Bhagiyaraj himself will be presented by Moser Bear. |
