 Dhanush is hoping that good break would be Pudhupettai. Supposedly an action entertainer on 'goons' in Chennai, Pudhupettai also stars Sneha and Sonia Agarwal.
Directed by Dhanush's elder brother Selvaraghavan, the movie is being produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers.
After a big hit in Kadhal Kondein, the trio of Selvaraghavan, Dhanush and Yuvan Shankar Raja have teamed up again for Pudhupettai.
The story is about the rites of passage of a don. It is about how a adolescent boy ends up as a dadha of sorts. Like all Selvaraghavan films, this one too has a lot of realism.
Dhanush, as the director says, has been cast because he suits the role. ‘We chose the story first,’ he says.
 Dhanush has the role out of his skin and is very hopeful of pulling it off.
Sneha plays a call girl in the movie and she says it is one of the best roles that she had ever performed. Sonia Agarwal is also all thrilled about her role in the film.
Selvaraghavan has proved his mettle as a good director thanks to big hits in Kadhal Kondein and 7G Rainbow Colony.
He has given his best for the movie, which was shot extensively in a big set erected at Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad replicating the Chennai slums.
Perhaps, the first action-packed venture by Selvaraghavan, the movie has already created a lot of expectations among film buffs.
The audio of the movie has also come good and Yuvan Shankar's tunes are rocking.
Dhanush is pinning all hopes on Pudhupettai.
