 The man who scored a hat-trick Perarasu and the mass hero, Vijayakanth, have joined hands for Dharmapuri.
With Vijayakanth around, there would be no dearth of action, and sentiments. Perarasu is known for packing commercial elements at right mix in his movies as he had shown in the past (Thirupachy, Sivakasi and Thirupathi). The two coming together would obviously mean a racy and action-filled entertainer.
Perarasu has a unique way of naming his films. All his flicks are titled after the names of places, be it Tirupachy, Sivakasi or Thirupathi and most importantly all these films have turned out to be hits. And he doesn't want to break this sequence, with his next movie titled on similar lines --- Dharmapuri.
Since Vijayakanth's newly-floated political party tasted success in the Assembly expectations are high on his movies.
His long-pending Perarasu graced the theatres recently and doing well. Next in line for release is Dharmapuri. Quite expectedly, the movie has Vijayakanth playing the title role with Lakshmi Rai playing his heroine.
Says Perarasu, ‘The storyline is nothing new. It's about a society-conscious man, who fights the evils. But the narration makes the difference'.
Perarasu's films are known for the hero uttering punch dialogues. Vijayakanth fans expect the same from their hero.
When asked Perarasu, says, 'Of course, there are punch dialogues and songs glorifying the hero. But nothing is intentional and they would be part of the movie'.
The director, who normally pens lyrics for his movies, has also sung a number in the movie set to tunes by Srikanth Deva. Also he plays a cameo in Dharmapuri.
Stunts in Vijayakanth's movies are always exceptional. So would be Dharmapuri, Perarasu says and adds, 'It is a value for money entertainer and is totally apolitical'.
A real treat for Captain Fans, he winds up.
Lakshmi Rai who is in need a good break is banking heavily on this movie.
She is happy to be cast alongside with Vijayakanth. A film with the ‘Captain’ will open the right doors for her, she hopes.
Vijayakanth has managed to combine a rural subject with his action-sentiments-fun combo.
Dharmapuri is expected to be a happy destination.
