A Venkatesh is a reliable hand in rendering masala movies, and teams up with Arjun for the first time in Vathiyar. Azhagai Irukkirai - fame Mallika Kapoor plays Arjun's ladylove in the movie.
The movie is all about an honest cop who sets off to New York to crack a murder case.
After Boys and Kadhal, it's three-in-a-row for Bharath in Veyyil with Shankar. Sharing footage with him is Pasupathy. The happening heroine of Kollywood Bhavana and the 'Thimiru' girl Shriya Reddy are also in the cast as a slum girl plays a totally deglamourised role clad in everyday costumes.
With Nasser playing the father, and Bharath as his son, the movie has Gopika playing the heroine.
Speaking about the movie, director Jayabharathy, says, 'Sathyaraj plays a caring husband who is affected by paranoia.' Incorporated into this is the issue of national security.

After playing the lead role in the controversial movie Uyir, Srikanth's Kizhakku Kadarkarai Salai revolves round an incident happening in the sprawling East Coast Road.
Vallavan is one of the eagerly awaited movies of this year. Firstly it is the debut directorial venture of Silambarasan and secondly the huge hype surrounding the film.
Directed by debutant Tharun Gopi, Vishal is paired with Reema Sen. The two hit it off well in Chellame, their chemistry being a big talking point.
The movie features debutants Harishkumar and Lakshmipriya in the lead roles, while Kiran plays a model in the movie. The film revolves round a young guy who works for the betterment and justice of the downtrodden. He also makes many sacrifices in making this passion come true.

Produced by Thirumalai Films and directed by Shivashanmugham, the movie has Pooja and Namitha giving company to Prashanth. Prominent among the supporting lines are Karunas and Kanja Karuppu.
According to Subramaniam Siva, 'Pori is an action-packed romantic entertainer. It has got all commercial ingredients between them. It is the coming together of a couple, who have different thoughts'.
