The audio launch event of Nayantara's 'Anaamika' has been held at Hotel Mariott in Hyderabad. Sekhar Kammula is the director. Harsha Vardhan Rane and Vaibhav will be seen in pivotal roles.
The film is a remake of Bollywood's critically acclaimed super hit film 'Kahaani', starring Vidya Balan. VIacom 18, Identity motion pictures and Logline productions are producing this film. It is their first film in the South.
Sekhar Kammula, M.M.Keeravani, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, Ramesh Prasad, Vaibhav, Sr.Naresh, Kodanda Ramireddy etc have attended the event.
Sekhar Kammula said " At first I've doubted if I can do this movie, when the producers approached me. But as the movie is a thriller, the first name that came to my mind was Yandamuri Veerendranath. I approached him to ask if we can work together. He immediately agreed to do the film. Pregnant women are less vulnerable for attacks as majority of people treat them with respect. Other than pregnant women all the other women are highly vulnerable. So I thought it would be appropriate, if the heroine has no pregnancy in our movie. I said the idea to Veerendranath and he liked it. We started working together on it.The story has come very good.He is such a great writer. I am very fortunate to have read many of his writings. I wish the present and future generations will read them. After Yandamuri Veerendranath, I've thought of Keeravani next. It is a destiny that if a director works with Keeravani. The other reason for roping in Keeravani is I was confident that even if I didn't direct the movie well, he will cover it in rerecording. I know Seetharama Sastry will work for me. I thought of working with Seetharama Sastry for 'Anand', but I couldn't do it. I used to respect Veturi sir so much and so worked him. I hope I will have his blessings forever and I hope Seetharama Sastry and me will have a very good association. When discussing the story with legends like Keeravani and Sirivennela, we had an idea to include a song and then another. Those songs are very apt for the movie. I am confident that this movie will be loved by the audiences".
Yandamuri Veerendranath said " Sekhar Kammula called once about this movie. He asked me if we should work together. I said that I am retired as a writer and asked I can match the needs of present generation. He said I can do it and when I asked about the story, he said that it is the remake of 'Kahaani'. I said if it is a remake, what is the use with me. He said that the story is similar to 'Kahaani', but the heroine is not pregnant. I asked if I have to act pregnant. He said let's experience the delivery pain together. I liked his timing then. When we started working for the film, I thought it would be better if the story is shown in a wider perspective as Sekhar Kammula's views are always focused on problems being faced in society. This story is based on 'Kahaani', but very different from it. Kodanda Ramireddy is here. We had worked for about 25 movies together, but I've never worked so much hard for any film as I worked for 'Anaamika'. Working with a director like Sekhar Kammula is never easy. Seetharama Sastry and I've met for the first time regarding this movie at Sekhar Kammula's house. I narrated the story to him and he said it is nice. I thank him for encouraging us. I know Seetharama Sastry for 30 years. Once I met him in a hotel. I was writing "Anando Brahma" book then. For writing a paragraph I faced a little problem and asked Seetharama Sastry, if he could write it for me. Then he wrote the lines "Jagamantha Kutumbam Naadhi" and for a movie called Chakram, he used the same lines. Not knowing it, some have complained that Seetharama Sastry copied my lines. Actually, they were written by him. I apologize him for not revealing it".
Keeravani said " The greatness of Seetharama Sastry cannot be described in words. After Veturi Sundararama Murthy, he is the person, who brings in speciality to the song with his style of writings. Once YVS Chowdary described a situation to Seetharama Sastry for a song and he has written a song describing the great Ramayana in four lines. The depth in those lines cannot be described. He is a great writer and we are very fortunate to have a writer like him in our industry. We wait for him for any days for his song and we have even grown our beards waiting for him".
Seetharama Sastry thanked Keeravani for finding the intricacies in his writing and said that it is a great pleasure for a creative person, if the depth of their work is found by others. " Sekhar Kammula and Keeravani said that they have waited for long time for my songs. It is a lie. I love to work for Keeravani's tunes and they would be of Telugu nativity. I know Sekhar Kammula before Anand. We were supposed to work together then, but it had not happened for reasons not known" , Sirivennela said. He also praised Sekhar Kammula and Yandamuri Veerendranath
Kodanda Ramireddy has thanked Sekhar Kammula for giving a very good role to his son Vaibhav and said that he is hopeful of a big hit.
