Ajay Devgn is quite unanimously known as one of India's biggest Action Stars; On the other hand upcoming Hollywood movie 'The Expendables 3' boasts of some of the biggest action stars from across the oceans, starring Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarznegger, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Jason Statham just to name a few. Ajay's next film Singham 2 is all set for an Indian Release on 15th of August, counting on the Independence Day release; and considering it's a Rohit Shetty film starring Ajay & Kareena, it might be considered a suicidal day to release another film. But not for The Expendables, much like their name suggests the distributors of the movie have decided to pull the release from the 21st of August to the 15th August to come with Singham 2. Whatwe hear is that the Indian distributors MVP Entertainment and PVR Pictures decided to pre-pone the release date because they believe a star-studded filmlike Expendables can definitely put up a fight at the Box Office and they didn't want to miss out on the Independence weekend. Also the fact that Expendables 2 gad grossed over 11 Crores on it's opening weekend way back in 2012 from just 800 screens. This time around the distributors are looking at a wider release for the project with a release in 4 languages including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Confirming the news, "The Expendables has become one of the biggest franchises across the globe. The second part of the film performed phenomenally well in India with a release as wide as 800 screens. The new installment of the film - The Expendables 3 is bigger than ever, with mega-stars like Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas joining in and the final product is stellar. We were toying the idea of a release date between 15th and 21st August and have concluded to come on 15th August along with the international release. We do understand that it is on the same day as Singham 2, but we are certain that two films of equal sizes can survive at the box office. Stallone and Schwarzeneger have humongous fan following in India and the genre of the film suits the appetite of people here. We will be dubbing the film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and are even hoping for a wider release this time around." - Deepak Sharma of PVR Pictures and Sunil Udhani of MVP Entertainment said in a joint statement.
