Started memorably with NVNV. She showed her typical impishness. Her impressive histrionics was one of the reasons for the film success. But by the tear end, the Allari Bullodu had spoilt all the good work. However, in between she had another good show in Athadu. She has also been roped in Chiru’s forthcoming Stalin. So Trisha hangs on at the top ---precariously at that.

By the year-end she had a different spelling to her name. But all through the year she was a different actress. Ever since Sri Anjaneyam last year, she is a changed performer. She is full of beans and chirpy enthusiasm. Her performance in many films stood out. But most memorable was in Anukokunda Oka Roju.

Shreya

She had the biggest losing streak. And till Chatrapthi happened, she had acted nearly 6 failures. But after Chatrapathi, Shreya was going places ---literally. She is the heroine of Shivaji opposite Rajinikanth under the direction Shankar. She is on a comeback ---that is the news of 2005.

Anushka

Her first big release Super was not in the big league of success. But in Mahanandi she had redeemed herself. And now she is one of the busiest actresses in the circuit.

The likes of Jyothika, Asin, Sada, Sandhya had hits. But they were in the dubbed categories and hence not considered for the list. Ileana was one of the busiest actresses of 2005. She has signed films left, right and center. But she doesn’t make the cut simply because she did not have a single release in 2005.
