K Viswanath is one of the sensitive and culturally relevant directors in our midst.
He has made some of the beautiful films of our times. Though high on emotions and traditional music, Viswanath has always made himself contextual.
So it is apt that the veteran director has been nominated to the jury that selects the National Awards.
Just a year ago, Viswanath’s Swarabhishekam was adjudged the best Telugu movie of the year.
Now Viswanath finds himself part of the selection panel for the year 2005.
Shashi Kapoor and Malayalam director Shaji N Karun are the other members of the jury.
