Whenever he appears on the screen, the audiences faces will glow with a smile. However, he is not a comedian. But his comedy had once helped our the then prime minister PV Narasimha Rao as a medicine to relax a while.

He is none other than our Nata Kireeti, Padma Shri, Dr Rajendra Prasad. Influenced by the late NT Rama Rao, he became an artiste and grew up with his blessings. He had completed 30 years of service as a film artiste.

Though he earned a gold medal as a ceramic engineer, he had a strong ambition to become a film artiste and joined the film institute. He completed his acting course but could not get any opportunity and failed to get any role in films.

With not even a rupee in his pocket, he pleaded with his father and made him to send Rs 500 for his livelihood. Later, he felt that it was an insult to get money from the parents even after growing up, he turned a dubbing artiste. He dubbed his voice for films like Mouna Raagam and Raagamalika films.

While doing the dubbing work, he got a chance to play a role in 'Sneham' directed by the great creative director Bapu in 1977.

After that, he got a couple of opportunities once in a while and he stepped the ladder step by step and proved himself as an artiste.

Finally, he settled as a comedy hero in Telugu film industry and earned a distinct image and place in the Telugu cinema. Rajendra Prasad worked with famous directors like Jandhyala, Vamsy, Bapu, EVV and other such directors and gave memorable hits.

Films like 'Ladies Tailor, Aha Naa Pellanta, Chinnodu-Peddodu, Vivahabhojanambu, Teneteega, Chevilo Puvvu, Appula Appa Rao, Aa Okkati Adakku, Pelli Pustakam, Mister Pellam' would stand right example for his acting talents.

Not only as a comedy hero, Rajendra Prasad proved himself as an artiste who could portray serious roles by doing a role in 'Yerra Mandaram'. His films like 'Maayalodu, Rajendrudu-Gajendrudu' were repeatedly watched by none other than our Prime Minister to relax with his comedy.

Very recently, his performance as Journalist Raghuram in 'Aa Naluguru' directed by Chandra Siddharth, moved everyone and touched the hearts of audiences.

Now, Rajendra Prasad is getting ready to appear before the audiences with another memorable performance in the role of Professor Rajaji in 'Mee Sreyobhilashi'. This great artiste is celebrating his birthday on July 19.

He was born to Manikyamba and Venkata Narayana. Dr Rajendra Prasad earned a fixed place in the hearts of Telugu audiences and in order to relax, an average Telugu audience would go and watch his film.

He became the address for a healthy comedy in the Telugu film industry for the past 30 years.

Indiaglitz.com wishes this memorable comedy king a very happy birthday and wish he would keep the audiences in good humour forever and ever.
