ICFF Day 2 -- Good mix of national, international films
IndiaGlitz [Friday, November 16, 2007]

The second day saw lots of action and more involvement from the children of various schools of the twin cities. Today too, the filmmakers had interactive sessions with children and their parents and gave autographs to enthusiastic kids. It was indeed good to see children pose questions after watching the films. They had their own best films and were clued into the programme schedule of the Festival. While some thought the international films were a must see as they didn’t get to see very many regularly, others thoroughly enjoyed the animation films.

We managed to track down the young director-actor Krishna, of Care of Footpath for you. He told us how Jackie Shroff instantly agreed to do the film after listening to the script, as he was once a street kid himself. He was just leaving for Bangalore and said he was pleased by the response that he got from other children. He is already on the verge of making his next film that he says will be an entertainer for kids and adults.

Then we met filmmaker Feng Zhenzhi from China who made the beautiful and touching film Invisible Wings about how a physically challenged girl overcomes her obstacles and finds her path in life with grit and determination. He too had to overcome his language barrier to interact with kids and adult audience.

We also chatted with the young director Hanumantha Rao Raghavapudi. He recounted how certain stories about HIV patients touched him and how he went about making his film that will be released soon.

So, check out our videos for Day 2 at the Festival.
