2005 – 2006 Raghupathi Venkaiah Awards

In the honor of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu, a pioneer of Telugu Film Industry, a national award named after him is presented every year by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to Telugu Film Industry.

The award carries Rs.5000/- in cash, Golden Nandi and a citation.

This year the awards announced for two years (2005 & 2006) are presented along with the Nandi Film Awards on the same stage.

Well known film producer, gifted writer and director MS Reddy (aka Mallemala, Sahaja Kavi) received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for 2005 towards his contribution to the growth and development of Telugu Cinema.

The selection committee for this award consisted of 3-members TL Kantha Rao, M Balaiah and M.Arjun Raju.

For the year 2006 the award is presented to producer and actor Dr.D.Rama Naidu (aka Movie Moghul). Guinness Book of Records lists him as the most prolific producer who make over 110 film on Suresh Productions.

The selection committee for this years award, consisted of Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, KC Sekharbabu and P.Sambasiva Rao.
