NTR National Award from 2003 to 2006

The prestigious NTR National Awards for the years 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 have been presented on 17th during the Nandi Awards function.

The award named after legendary Telugu star turned politician and Ex-Chief Minister of AP Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, carries a reward of Rs 50,000, a golden Nandi and a citation.

2003 NTR National Award is presented to Gattamaneni Siva Ramakrishna aka Krishna who did over 350 films as a hero.

2004 NTR National Award is presented to the ace music director, who composed music to 800 films and over 4000 songs, maestro Ilayaraja.

2005 NTR National Award went to popular Kannada star turned politician, who acted in about 200 films, Ambareesh.

2006 NTR National Award is presented to veteran actress Waheeda Rehman. She started her career in film with Telugu film 'Jaisimha' (1955) and later moved to Hindi film Industry.

Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy presented the awards on behalf of the AP Govt. at the junction.

The NTR National Award selection committee members for years 2003 & 2004 are T.L.KanthaRao, M.Balaiah and M.Mohan Babu; for year 2006: K.B.Tilak, Jayasudha and A.SuryaNarayana.

SuperStar Krishna, Ilayaraja from Chennai, Waheeda Rehman from Mumbai and Ambareesh from Bengaluru have arrived personally to receive these awards which became a significant part of the function.
