Over the years in Telugu Film Industry he penned uncountable songs without leaving a conceivable emotion untouched with his words. In fact there is no word that can fully accommodate his achievements. The ace lyric writer Veturi Sundara Rama Murthy was born on 29th January 1936 in East Godavari district of AP.
As a lyric writer in 1976 for his song 'Manasa veena Madhu geetham…' in 'Panthulamma' movie he bagged his first Nandi award. Followed by it, he got a Nandi for his song 'ii duryodhana dussaasana…' in 'Prathighatana' in 1985, and for 'aakasana suryudundadu sande velaki..' in 'Sundarakanda' . Then he received Manaswini Awards for 'Venuvai Vachchanu Bhuvananiki' in 'Maatrudevo Bhava' (1992) and for 'Aakaasaana Suuryudundadu Sande velaki' in 'Sundarakanda'.
It is learnt at the age of 72 Veturi is coming up with an autobiography. Being a very humble persona he often says, Gatamantaa shrutam naadi, prastutaaniki adi punaadi (I have spent my past learning things from great people, it all became the foundation for my present).
It is also learnt that he has chosen the first words 'Venuvai Vachchanu' (I arrived as a flute to the earth), from his song 'Venuvai Vachchanu Bhuvananiki…' in 'Maatrudevo Bhava' movie, as the title for his autobiography.
