Nandi Awards 2007 were presented on 14th evening, at Telugu Lalitha Kala Thoranam, PublicGardens.

The event was inaugurated and presided over by the chief guest Home Minister Jana Reddy and Cinematography Minister Anam Ram Narayan Reddy. Cultural events including classical, folk and spectacular silver men dance shows adorned the show before the awards were presented.

Home Minister Jana Reddy, I & PR and Cinematography Minister Anam Ram Narayan Reddy honoured, Veteran producer Tammareddy Krishnamurthy who made films like Bangaru Gajulu and Lakshadhikari was honored with the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah award. Legendary maker Dasari Narayana Rao received the NTR National Film award for his contribution to the industry.

Anam Ram Narayan Reddy, Dasari Narayana Rao and Konatala Ramakrishna presented the Nandi awards to the the other winners.

Venkatesh, Charmme, Jagapathi Babu, Krishna Vamsi, Sekhar Kammula, VV Vinayak, Srinu Vaitla, GopiChand, Varun Sandesh, Tamanna, Ramcharan Teja, Srinivas, Sagar, Mickey J Mayer, C.Ramprasad, Soumya, Karthik, Naga Ashokkumar, Eshwar Reddy, Master Roshan, Baby Varshini, Murali Sharma, Venigella Rambabu, Dubbing Janaki, Challa Srinivas, Radhakumar, Uttej, Kausalya, Ahuthi Prasad are among the winners’ list who were present on the occasion.

Presence of stars Venkatesh, Charmme, Gopichand, Ramcharan, Jagapathi Babu turned the event glitzy. Apart from the stars presence, the event didn’t have any speculative elements similar to the previous Nandi Awards which was submerged in taking sides and abounded with political overtones.

Nandi Awards were considered the most prestigious awards of AP but this presentation ceremony will go into history for all the wrong reasons. For the first time in history, head of the state, the Chief Minister did not present the Nandi Awards. He was also absent from the function which was conspicuous. Adding fuel to the grave, Home Minister Jana Reddy vacated the dais even before the presentation came to an end. Cultural shows were organized in a grandiose manner that left the audience frustrated. As if this was not enough, the presentations started quite late and award winners (stars) were offered least time to address the audience which is not just one of the bitter experiences in the long list.
