Well known senior director Guttha Ramineedu passed away this morning (29.04.09) in his Chennai residence. He was ailing with kidney related illness according to family sources.
He was 80, survived by wife, three daughters and son.
Hailing from village Chareparru, near Eluru, West Godavari district of AP, he stepped into Telugu cinema as a producer and director in 1954.
He had been a part of 60s and 70s of Telugu Cinema, during which commercial films with social themes were on a rage.
‘Anuragam’, ‘Maa Inti Mahalakshmi’, ‘Kalimilemulu’, ‘Palanati Yuddham’, ‘Bangaru Sankellu’ are few of his notable films. He has directed around 20 films, ‘Yagnam’ introducing Gopichand was his last movie.
The last rights will be performed in Chennai tomorrow according to the family sources.
Some of the popular Telugu film industry people visited the mortal remains and offered their deepest condolences to the family.
