Ever imagined a collaboration with the State government’s Police Department and the man who stole the hearts of millions with his music? Apparently, there is a connection.

The police department has decided on producing a short film with a view to entice youngsters and Rahman will compose music for it.

Hoping to attract more attention of the youngsters by roping in the music youth icon, JK Tripathi requested a meeting with the Oscar-winning composer and asked him if he could compose music for the short film. The music composer, who has so far been part of many social causes like The Banyan, had given his immediate consent for the project. It may be recalled that AR Rahman had earlier done albums like Pray For Me Brother for social causes like eradicating poverty.

It was after this meeting that AR Rahman actually went on to win the Oscars. Yet, despite his busy schedule post the Oscars, Rahman has clarified that he will be part of this project as it is for a noble cause.

Rahman’s perseverance to be part of this endeavour, despite his national and international commitments, is said to have stepped up efforts by the department to bring out the short film quickly.
