“When we decided to remake ‘Jaganmohini’, Namitha was the name that popped up in our mind immediately. She combines glamour with performance. She is the USP of the film,” says the movie’s director N K Viswanathan.

The cinematographer turned filmmaker says, “due credit should also be given to Meera Chopra and Raja, who have played their parts well. What started as a small venture has become a big fare. Thanks to technological development, we have succeeded in coming out with a movie that would be on par with international standards.”

The visual effects combined with splendid musical score by Illayaraja have given the movie a fresh identity, Viswanathan says and adds, “We are eagerly waiting for the movie to hit the screens.”

Namitha plays the role enacted by Jayamalini in the original directed by Vittalacharya, while the rest of the cast includes Meera Chopra and Raja. Produced by H Murali, the shooting for the movie is complete and it is all set for an early release.
