We all know that the recently held Star Night was helmed in by Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao and that he was the force behind its materialization.

He also hosted the gala event, which went for about 7 hours.  Dasari, however felt that it was the unified effort and drive of the film industry as a whole that deserved praise.
 
The veteran said, "The Star Night conceptualised with the intent to help flood victims mustered special response from everyone in the industry.  Everyone in the film industry thought it to be their responsibility.  That's why everyone could stand on an even keel.  We virtually halted the industry for three days.  Yet producers and artistes did not think twice before telling the victims that we were behind them."
