Twenty years after he wrote Veer's concept, Salman Khan's idea has seen materialization. Yes, his story Veera has got the celluloid avatar, which is ready for a January 22 release. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film has Salman playing a warrior. Set in 1825, when India was a colony of the British, the film chronicles the love story of Veer, who puts up a battle with the British to emerge victorious in his love.
Debutante Zarine Khan plays Princess Yashodhara in the film. Mithun Chakravarthy, Sohail Khan and Jackie Shroff play the other key characters, while a bevy of foreign actors like Lisa Lazarus, Bianca Van Varenberg, Militza Radmilovic will also be seen.
Reportedly made on a mammoth budget of Rs. 55 cr., the has music by Sajid-Wajid and produced by Vijay Galani & Sunil A. Lulla.
The audio of the film was released recently and has songs rendered by Sonu Nigam, Sukhwindar Singh, Shreya Ghosal and others.
The film boasts of setting a love story in the context of British rule in India.
