Already having produced films in 12 languages, D Ramanaidu is about to produce a Punjabi film. The acer has his place in the Guinness Book of World Records, but the producer has always had his feet firmly on the ground.
How did he arrive at the philosophy of putting a brave front in success and being humble in success? Earth-shattering experiences have made him stronger. One of such experiences came after he lost everything. Premnagar, made a cost of Rs. 15 lacs, was a life-and-death question for him at that time. If the film flopped, he will go bust, having lost all his in the process.
He decided to move to a village and make a living there. As destiny would have it, the ANR-starrer was a stupendous hit. In the following years, he forayed into Hindi and Tamil, by re-making the film with Shivaji Ganesh in Tamil.
He often says that if Ramudu-Bheemudu is a seed, Premnagar is a tree. The simile sums it all.
