Riding high on the success of four back-to-back blockbusters this year, UTV Motion Pictures today announced that it has locked satellite deals worth almost Rs. 150 crores for their promising 2012 slate.
With the demand for good movie content on broadcast networks surging, and with movies like Tamil blockbuster 'Vettai', 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' and 'Paan Singh Tomar' performing phenomenally at the box office, the studio has already signed satellite deals across a few of their current releases and their upcoming slate.
Besides including the recently released hit movies like 'EMAET, 'PST', 'TNLHG', the deals also include the highly anticipated 'Barfi!', 'Heroine', 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Joker'. In addition to these films, the studio is in different stages of negotiations on this year's slate of movies including the multi-starrer 'Race 2', India's first 3D dance movie 'Any Body Can Dance' (ABCD), 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana' and 'Ghanchakkar'.
On striking these deals, Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, said.
