I was offered Paramahamsa's role: ANR

IndiaGlitz [Monday, May 14, 2012]

Akkineni Nageshwara Rao may have donned a range of versatile roles in his illustrious career spanning several decades, but he is a bit sorry that he could not get to essay two of his favourite personalities - Yogi Vemana and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

In fact, some years ago ANR even grew a beard to look like the great seer, Ramakrishna, but no producer dared to make a film on the mystic's life.  "Someone came to me offering to do a film on Paramahamsa recently.  I rejected the offer because I feel that I may not be able to do justice to the role at this age," the legendary actor avers.

Of course, ANR must be proud of his son, Nag, who is all set to be seen in another mystic's role - Shirdi Sai Baba.
