He had his last release, Leader, in February 2010. He rumouredly tried to remake Happy Days in Hindi thereafter, but was somehow dissuaded from doing it. He embarked on another feel-good, mature drama, with newcomers again. Much to his despair, the lead heroine who was originally cast dumped the classy film maker and walked out of the film in the middle.
Enter Shriya Saran, LIB was again on tracks. Barring this senior among the younger actresses, the rest of the cast is new. The news is that, the film is fast getting completed.
The audience have not been treated to a class entertainer for long now. All the youthful entertainers released recently, especially and notably Ee Rojullo, were urbane but not classy. The question whether audience are prepared to watch Kammula-style entertainment is a moot one. Given his capability to offer novelty every time, we may safely assume that LIB will have all the trappings of original cinema.
