For many like director Teja, Gundamma Katha remains the biggest inspiration.  "The film is a classic which we would do well to never remake it," Teja opines.  There has been some speculation that the film is being planned to be remade.  If Boyapati Sreenu recommends the names of the descendents of NTR and ANR, Krissh seconds him by suggesting the names of Junior and Naga Chaitanya.

The big question that has boggled the minds of many is this: Who should play Suryakantham's role?  The film revolves around this character, despite the fact that it remains the greatest multi-starrer film made in the history of Telugu cinema.  Jamuna has said that she is the true heroine of the movie.  Though many feel that there is none in the industry who is capable of reprising her brilliant portrayal, Krissh comes up with a suggestion.  It is yesteryear actress Sridevi.  "We have not seen her in the role of a cantankerous mother-in-law.  People will definitely like her in such role," he says.

Talk to Teja, he likes the film for the fact that the tragedy element is sublime and underrated in the movie.  That is what makes the film a masterpiece, he opines.  For VV Vinayak, GK is an ever-lasting entertainer, always new and interesting.  "SV Ranga Rao's role can be given to Prakash Raj.  It is difficult to find actors for the roles of Gundamma, and those portrayed by Ramana Reddy and Chaya Devi."
