Krishna Vamsi is one inventive story-teller who has won more number of prestigious awards than the number of films he has made. Five Nandis and four Filmfare awards should make us call him a one-of-his-kind filmmaker in Tollywood.
Sindhooram, Anthahpuram, Khadgam, Chakram and Chandamama fetched for him the Nandi Award. Ninne Pelladatha, Sindhooram, Anthahpuram and Khadgam won him the Filmfare Award for Best Director. National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu went for Sindhooram, and Ninne Pelladatha.
A protege of Ram Gopal Varma, thematic variety and emotional intensity are the raison d' etre of his films. It is not easy to classify his films into this or that. Defying all bracketing, his films come with something for everyone. Of course, when he wants to be true to the genre, it can be a raw but moving film like Anthahpuram.
Till date, the only film of his which may be called outdated is Mogudu. Even a KRR has had flops in his career and KV is no exception. Before he celebrates his next birthday, he will have made a roaring comeback with Paisaa (the Naani starrer). We bet.
