Shriya Saran is one of the few actresses who has held her own, albeit not in a big way, for more than a decade.  Things turned to her advantage when she acted in Santosham, opposite Nagarjuna.  That one film gave her a huge fillip, even though her films could not create BO magic.  Apart from Nuvve Nuvve and Tagore, she was never the Numero Uno star despite acting with the likes of Chiru, Pawan, and Venkatesh.

At the same time as her career took a downward spiral in Tollywood, she got an offer from none other than Shankar.  It is to Shivaji - The Boss that she acknowledges the credit for her current Bollywood stint.

"It was after watching the film that Deepa Mehtha offered me Cooking With Stella.  Impressed with that act, she offered me a role in Midnight's Children," she says.  Midnight's Children reportedly has her doing a kissing scene.  She says that she is very much open to it.  "What is wrong in doing kissing scenes or wearing the bikini if the script demands?  There is nothing wrong in doing, but it should not be forced," she remarks.
