In his interview given to Rajeev Masand of a 24\7 news channel, SS Rajamouli said that the idea of reincarnation first swept him when he watched SRK-Salman Khan-starrer Karan-Arjun in a Hyderabad theatre. He was literally crying, clapping and doing more in the excitement of watching the film.
That explains why he could so intelligently interweave the idea of reincarnation into the stories of Magadheera and Eega with perfect emotions.
He also admitted to looking forward to direct a Hindi film. After all, Vikramarkudu (Rowdy Rathore) and Maryada Ramanna (Son of Sardar) have already been remade. Anurag Kashyap holds the remake rights of Magadheera, which will be remade with Ranbir Kapoor.
"Any story-teller wants to make a film for a larger audience and I am no exception. But I would not want to remake a film on whose idea I had already worked for 2 years. I will want to choose a fresh idea which excites me if I want to debut in Bollywood," he said.
