Nandi Awards have have some interesting and surprising names in its list. N Shankar winning the Best Director Award for Jai Bolo Telangana is a case in point. It proves that message-oriented films always make an impression with the Nandi jury, especially because Rajanna too has won awards in various categories.
Lakshmi Manchu's villainous act in Anaganaga Oka Roju is another example . A well-deserved award, she has won the award for the role of Iravathi in that socio-fantasy flick. The film actually won two other awards in the categories of Best costume designer (Nikhar Dhawan & Basha) and Best special effects (Phani Eggone).
Art has been thoroughly rewarded yet again. Rushi's Raj Madiraju has won the Best Story-writer award, rather fittingly. Together with twists and emotions, the film, in fact, deserved a better award. A special jury award went to the film's producer, Ramesh Prasad, LV Prasad's son.
Poru Telangana's Mettapally Surender won the Best Lyricist award for Rathi bommallona koluvaina sivudu song.
Best debutante director award went to Bhanu Prakash Balusu of Prayogam
