'Major Chandrakanth', the movie in which NTR mesmerized the audience with his electrifying performance in the role of a retired army major, completes 20 years today.
Legend K.Raghavendra Rao had directed the movie and Mohan Babu produced this movie under Sri Lakshmi Prasanna pictures banner. Paruchuri Brothers penned the script for this movie.
It was released on April 23rd, 1993. The movie became a big hit at the box office. The audience were thrilled to see NTR in such a powerful role and particularly with Punya Bhoomi naa desam song in the movie, in which he was seen in the roles of Alluri Seetharama Raju, Chathrapathi Sivaji, Veerapandy Katta Brahmanna and Subhash Chandrabose etc.
The song is played even now at many events to raise patriotic feelings.
