An ordinary middle class boy next door making it big in an industry dominated by sons, nephews and grand sons of legendary actors, producers, directors and studio owners is no ordinary feat. Srinivas, who broke into the scene with Maruthi's 'Ee Rojullo' and followed it up with good appearances in 'Arvind 2' 'Gola Seenu'and 'Ee Pustakamlo Konni Pajelu Missing'. The young actor says he is a professional and does his act right as per the director's orders.Spoke to IndiaGlitz exclusively, post the success of 'Ee Pustakamlo Konni Pagelu Missing' and expressed his candid opinions of his audiences, experiences, roles and future. Excerpts from the chat:

Enjoying the success of EPLKPM...

The film is off the beat and the success gave me enormous confidence that yes, I belong to this industry.

Sri, Srini Or Srinivas...

I am Srinivas but my name for the first movie was 'Sri' and now changing it to 'Srini'

Coincidental...

Though I dreamt of becoming an actor, getting the opportunity was a sheer coincidence. I went to meet my friend who was producing a film and Maruthi was there. He then asked me if I would like to act. I said 'Yes' and went thru the several stages of auditions. That's how it happened.

Too Busy To Celebrate...

I was acting my second film 'Arvind 2' on the release of 'Ee Rojullo' so, I couldn't really celebrate the success of the film much.

Parents are Supportive...

I didn't disclose to my parents of my first two films. So, they were surprised by the film's success. My father told me that I have to be on my feet since this is one industry you will be easily cheated. I don't care if you lose money but no one else should blame you for their losses. I could make a 'He is safe' stamp to myself in my short career.

My Roles...

In 'Ee Rojullo' mine is a software engineer's role with a name Sri and that settled down as my screen name. 'Arvind 2' I played a Tattooist role. 'Rayy Rayy...' is a mass entertainer and got good response in B and C centers. I am an ad maker in 'Lover Cycle' and in EPLKPM, I did a memory loss patient's role. All in all, the shades have been pretty versatile and happy that I got good name for all the roles. This is what I always wanted to be, acting in roles that have a good scope for histrionics and still portraying some heroism.

Learnt A Lot...

Just five films but they gave me a lifetime experience and helped my carve a great character for myself, a good dependable personality. I am a professional and like a white paper on which the director can draw whatever he wants. I just want to be flexible, available and dependable. That's it.

I Had Bad Experiences...

Hardly a year and half but I already got some bad experiences. I was cheated by people I believed. One filmmaker called me for a workshop, shot it with a handheld camera for a demo and after 15 days, he said 'that's the footage he was going to release for theaters. For another producer I stood as guarantee and had to pay when he defaulted. These experiences won't deter me from what I am here for, acting and building a career in acting. I will remember my parents' words and will grow strong with experiences.

Don't mind Multi-starrers...

I don't have any inhibitions about the movies I want to do. I have certain recognition as a hero so, I will do solo hero movies. At the same time, if the projects are good and my role is effective, I don't mind doing multi-starrers as well. I am well connected to all the young heroes of the industry.

Consolidate in Telugu...

I know that it's important that you need to expand into other languages as well when it's time but I believe that one needs to consolidate in his mother language first. So, I want to establish my market in Telugu before looking at other languages. I do get offers but I am cautious.

SVR, My All Time Fav...

SV Ranga Rao is my all time favorite actor and watch his performances very closely, he is one actor who takes the skin of the character so easily. I also like Bala Krishna and Pawan Kalyan, Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood. In heroines, I dream of Katrina Kaif and Sriya... No, dream of only acting with them... I basically follow all the actors closely and try create a style for myself.

Future Is Bright...

I am doing 'Galata' in Krishna's direction. Yissum Creations, a renowned production house in Malayalam is making a film in four South Indian languages and I feel blessed to be a part of such project.

The young actor said he plans to remain non-controversial thru his career and do as many movies as possible to carve a niche for himself in the audiences minds.
