RGV says 'the term beauty is vastly subjective and cannot be decided by a handful of pageant judges announcing who is beautiful' Commenting on the rejoice shown by Indians and especially Telugu people have shown towards the Miss America winner Nina Davuluri, he said he has seen a more beautiful girl in the central mall the other day and beauty truly lies in the beholder's eyes as each man has a different requirements of beauty in a woman.
He added 'Now that the judges crowned her with the title, she will be looked upon with a different view and the fact that she won the title and the confidence makes her more beautiful than she originally is. In a true Indian fashion, all those who are celebrating now, never bothered to even track her record while she was on the stage competing'.
'Coming to defining beauty, I know hundreds of girls who smile more beautifully than Mona Lisa, have a better grace on ram than Marlin Monroe and I feel Sridevi in Mr. India more enchanting than Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. I found three other girls who lost out to Nina found more beautiful than Nina herself. Having said that I cheer for Nina for her success coz I love beautiful women and beautiful America precisely in that order'.
The column was as usual received with lots of enthusiasm and the response was obviously divided between condemnation and concurrence. Karan Johar said 'RGV is Mad'
