Actor AVS Passes Away

Ace comedian, producer and director Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam or as the Telugu film lovers know him as, AVS passed away a while ago today at his residence. He was 56 and survived by wife, daughter and a son.

AVS was taken to hospital about a week days ago after his liver problem resurfaced but news is that he was discharged from the hospital today by the doctors who said they were helpless to save the damaged liver coz it was not responding to treatment any more. The actor has undergone liver transplantation at Global Hospital, Hyderabad in the year 2008 and the donor was none other than his own daughter.

AVS was from Tenali town of Guntur district and had been a journalist in the initial years of his career. He was introduced to the silver screen by the ace director Bapu in the film 'Mister Pellam' and turned him an overnight star. He acted in over 500 films after that and made a mark of his own in the Telugu comedy and will be remembered as 'Tutti Subrahmanyam'.

He later produced and directed films like 'Super Heroes', 'Uncle', Ori Ni Prema Bangaaram Kaanu.. Room Mates, and Kothimooka. He will be remembered forever as a friendly, good natured and quick witted human being by the people who know him and as a versatile actor by the Telugu audience.

Stalwarts of TFI expressed deep grief and sorrow for the sudden demise of the actor and conveyed condolences for his family. IndiaGlitz prays for the actor's soul rest in peace.
