Yuva Samrat Nagarjuna had watched the latest release of Raghava Lawrence 'Muni' recently. It is Nagarjuna who introduced Lawrence as director through 'Mass'.
Expressing his opinion on 'Muni', Nagarjuna says, 'Though Lawrence turned director with 'Mass', he proved his calibre by directing and acting in the film 'Style'. He told me that he was doing a film 'Muni' in Tamil and narrated the story. I told him that the story is good but he should be very careful in moulding the character of the 'Atma'. I personally felt that. Now he is doing 'Don' with me. Out of curiosity, I watched 'Muni', as to how he performed after my advice. His direction is simply superb. Though I thought it would be a routine film, he made me feel that he gave a variety performance. The way he performed the comedy and generated suspense, and the performance of Lawrence in the second half, and the narration of Rajkiran in a flashback episode were fantastic. In fact, I felt really good while watching the second half. Heroine Vedika competed with Lawrence in shaking legs. She did never become slow in dancing with him. She had also performed well. I felt that the Telugu film industry got a very good heroine like Vedika. Lawrence rose to new heights in 'Muni' than 'Mass'. He is also performing excellently as an artiste. Even in 'Don' he is doing a beautiful character as my brother. After watching the fights in 'Muni', I asked him to introduce such variety fights even in 'Don'. There will be a different punch in each fight in 'Don'. Every punch would have a lead also. In fact, Lawrence narrated the subject well. We are trying to bring out a quality film with lesser budget. I can surely say that Lawrence is a producers' director. He proved his mettle by doing a mass film like 'Mass', a film with good mother sentiment like 'Style' and a horror film like 'Muni'.' |
