Young hero Vishaal, who won the hearts of Telugu audiences with his dubbed films like 'Pandemkodi', 'Pogaru' and 'Bharani' produced on the banner of GK Film Corporation, is now doing a role in a straight Telugu film 'Salute' with Nayanatara in the female lead.

Produced by Vikram Krishna on the banner of GK Film Corporation, the film will have a debutant director called Rajasekhar. The shooting of the film was launched at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on August 15, the Independence Day. Movie Moghul Dr D Ramanaidu gave the clap, senior producer Devi Varaprasad switched on the camera for the muhurat shot.

Addressing the media later, hero Vishal says, 'Though I am a Telugu boy, I became a hero through Tamil film industry. My dream to play hero in a straight Telugu film is taking shape on this day. I am playing the role of a sincere ACP in this movie.'

Music director Harris Jayraj says, 'It is indeed a great occasion that a film which contains the story of a sincere police officer being moulded is being launched on a great day like Independence Day. I don't know why but I always get a chance to score music for films with police in their backdrop. It is a good story and there is a good hero. Moreover, the film had good scope for music and I am very happy for getting an opportunity to score music for this film.'

Producer Vikram Krishna says, 'All the scenes in the film would look natural and had a good logic. But they won't look artificial.'

GK Reddy, director and cinematographer also spoke with the media. Upendra, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam, Chandramohan, Ali, Jeeva, Ravi Kale and others are in the cast.
