Ramadasu team gung-ho
With a rustic beard and smart sun glasses of designer vintage, Nagarjuna struck a picture of a modern-day bard. Indeed he is as he is fully into the skin of the character that he plays in Sri Ramadasu.
The Sri Ramadasu team met the press yesterday. And it was pretty clear that Nagarjuna is taking this role very seriously.
The producer Konda Krishnam Raju set the ball rolling by saying that the film was progressing very smoothly. He announced that the film’s audio would be on Sankranthi and at Bhadrachalam --- highly appropriate because the film is about Bhadrachalam Sri Ramadasu.
Heroine Archana, who plays the role Sita, was obviously thrilled. She spoke about how having done ballets in foreign countries came handy for the role. She thanked the Sri Ramadasu team for giving her a role in the film.
Writer J K Bhairavi pointed out that there were 20 keerthanas (songs) in the film. He spangled out music director M M Keeravani for praise.
Nagarjuna went as far as to suggest that Keeravani was indeed the hero of the film. His music is at the heart of the movie, he said. A national award is most likely, he opined.
Nags, who recalled the death of two unit members in an accident, however, said the vibes within the unit were good. He said the mood was upbeat.
In short, a hit is on the cards. Also present were the film’s director K Raghavendra Rao and S Gopal Reddy |
