A double bill

The CineMAA awards  was a double whammy of sorts. It was a celebration of the achievements of the industry and also the conferment of Padma Bhushan on Chiranjeevi.

Speaker after speaker brought up Chiru’s award and congratulated him.

Another highpoint of the night was the felicitation to veterans Krishna, Gummadi, Kaikala Satyanarayana, SP Balasubramanyam, Anjali Devi, Krishna Veni, Kanchana,Vani Sri, Rajendra Prasad, P Suseela, Kantha Rao, C Narayana Reddy, D Rama Naidu, DVS Raju, Ramesh Prasad, Vijaya Nirmala and Veturi.

The Allu Ramalingaiah award went to Brahmanandam while Chiranjeevi was presented (by ANR) with a Swanakanakam. The lifetime achievement award was presented to veteran ANR.

A big roster of names including Chiru, ANR, D Rama naidu, Nagarjuna, Rajendra Prasad, Srikanth, Allu Arjun, Vishnu, Raja, Brahmanandam, EVV, Charmi, Kamalini Mukherjee, Sneha, Kamna Jethmalani, Madhu Sharma, Gowri Mumjal, MS Raju, Prabhu Deva, Sekhar Kammula, Dil Raju, Sukumar and Paruchuri were at hand to add glitter and glitz to the occasion.

All in all, it was a night to remember.
