It is certainly heartening to see that among the slew of mindless masala movies there are producers who make bold to try out film with a different story.
Gangaraju Gunnam is certainly one of those producers. He is now making a film named Amma Cheppindi. The film’s muhurat was held yesterday. The movie is about the relationship between a mother and son (played by Suhasini and Sharvanand).
But what is new about mother-son story, you may ask. Well, the point the script is not about treacle-soaked maudlin mom-son story. It is much more mature and practical, says the director. Well, the director in this case also happens to be Gunnam.
Sharavanand who is slowly making his way into the main scheme of things has been having a good run of late. He was especially very good in Vennela. Now he hopesto get one better.
Shriya Reddy is the heroine of the movie. The lass with an attitude was last see Appudappudu. This sexy compere of SS Music has also done a film recently in Malayalam. But movies alone are not higher priority. So when such a girl agrees to do a movie then it has to be special.
The muhurat was very cosy affair. Sri Hari clapped the boards while veteran K Raghavendra Rao directed the first shot after S Gopal Reddy switched on the camera. The first shot was set on Sharavanand and Shriya Reddy.
Sundeep Gunnam is the cameraman. He is the son of the producer-director Gunnam.
So the movie is a family one, in more ways than one.
Just Yellow Media Productions, a by name for stylish and offbeat ventures in Telugu, is the banner producing it. |
