The 100 days celebration of YVS Chowdary's Devadasu was a spunky affair with Chowdary being praised for his perseverance and steely resolve.
Balakrishna, Dasari Narayana Rao and D Rama Naidu were the chief guests while Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Ramesh Prasad, B Gopal, Rajamouli, MRV Prasad, Boyapati Seenu, ML Kumar Chowdary, Chakri R Narayana Murthy, Sooriya Kiran were at hand to add luster to the show.
Music director Chakri, who was one of the reasons for the film's success, spoke at length about the kind of work he had put in for the movie.
S S Rajamouli spoke about YVS's conviction and daring. It is his bold backing that has made the movie a hit.
Ramanaidu also appreciated the courage of YVS. 'The story and the situation had been given a good backing,' he said and added 'movies like this are the need of the hour'.
Balakrishna said, "'YVS was a hard man who does not compromise on anything. It is a victory for him as well the public'. He also said, 'YVS should not flag, but continue in the same manner'.
YVS was obviously overwhelmed by the kind of tributes paid to him. He was very emotional and thanked everyone who made the movie the hit it is.
He specially pointed out the backing given by Aswini Dutt when the chips were down, he gave both moral and financial support, YVS said of Aswini Dutt.
Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna were also highly supportive. Dasari, referring to the guts of YVS, said conviction always lead to success.
Pointing to the technical expertise in Devadasu, Dasari also congratulated Chakri for his excellent score.
Devdasu, Lakshmi, Style, Sri Ramadasu, Pokiri and Veerabhadra. These are all big hits of 2006. I am happy for that, Dasari, the elder statesman of the industry, said. |
