How does it feel after the success of NVNV?
Hits always make you feel good. But this was obviously special. For, I was able to follow up on a previous success. I had done Varsham with M S Raju. So NVNV’s success is doubly sweet.
Tell us more about your experiences in the film?
It was absolutely fabulous. Whatever I may have to say now may look clichéd in the retrospective light of the film’s success. But the truth is that we enjoyed every moment of its making. The fun we had was what you saw in the screen. It was terrific.
About Prabhu Deva, the director and Siddharth, your co-star?
Prabhu Deva was very good despite this being his first film as the director. He knew what he was making. He had worked out the entire project. Siddharth and I had worked together in Yuva, and the vibes were pretty good.
What are the films you are working in Telugu now?
Athadu with Mahesh Babu is certainly one. I have a very good role in it. It is a good movie. There are also several others in the pipeline. But it would be too premature to talk about them now. I like to take things one at a time.
Is language a problem for you?
Certainly not. Language is very important for me. But it has not been a problem at all. I love the challenge. I love acting Telugu.
What are your kind of roles?
Anything that is lively and offers scope for acting. I think audiences accept me in any kind of character –modern as well as traditional.
You are number one in Tamil too…
Well, it has been all hard work. But I am not in this number one race business. You work hard and earn your rewards. It is as simple as that.
