Josh - Energetic and vibrant!!!
IndiaGlitz  [Friday, August 21, 2009]

The film ‘Josh’ is all geared up for release and this marks the debut of yet another star kid and that too from the legendary Akkineni family. We are talking about Naga Chaitanya, son of Nagarjuna. The audio release of the film happened grandly and the music has been composed by Sandeep Chowta while Dil Raju is the producer. Let us see how each song is like…

Neetho Unte…

This is the highlight song of the album, the reason for that happens to be the romance flavor and the poetic touch. The lyrics have been penned by Seetha Rama Sastry and he has shown versatile thoughts.  Sandeep Chowtha also scored equally well which was in sync with the words. Karthik is the apt choice for this one. This is a good melody that can be enjoyed by all.

College Bulloda……

The song which is an authentic folk number runs on a college backdrop. One can feel the traces of Devi Sri Prasad’s tunes but Sandeep Chowtha has been good in creating his mark in it. The lyrics have got good meaning for the youth who are spoiling themselves by indulging into activities. However, Chandrabose is known for his wit and light humor in his lyrics. The talented Vittal Rahul rendered his voice and he fitted the bill correctly.

Evvariki…..

This is more of a soft and bittersweet memory experience which has been stirred by the voice of Ujjaini Mukherjee, she has paired up with Rahul Vaidya who rendered an equally good voice. This is basically a love song and there is melody in it.  The lyrics have been quite strong by Seetha Rama Sastry and Sandeep has composed the beat with a balanced set of western and Indian instruments.

Diri Diridi…..

An upbeat and peppy number rendered from the husky voices of Sandeep Chowtha and Kunal Ganjawala. This is a fast paced song with heavy beats and it has got a fair share of lyrical value with Seetha Rama Sastry giving his prowess and intellect. The music has been fast and overall, the song is worth enjoying.

Bad Bad Boy…..

A naughty number, the song is a mix of heavy beat with soft wind instruments in the middle. The lyrics have been filled with energy and enthusiasm. Though the mood was good, the tune was somehow not upto the mark while the lyrics have been effective. There is a mix of English lyrics as well and this is one of those laid back numbers of the album.

Awara Hawa…..

A song based heavily on music, the number has got an attractive instrumental take off. Equally good was Soumya Rao who rendered her voice for this and that too with right pace and clarity. This time, the lyrics written by Seetha Rama Sastry have been plain and it looks like he has taken one of those stock words and put it to use here. The pace of the song has been moderate.

Jigijikka….

This is a bit song and though there is a mix of poetry on college life that lasts just for a minute. There is a strong flavor of fun that’s involved in the music. Chandrabose has penned those humorous words and the singer for this is G Raju. Sandeep Chowta has given a folk base to this one and it is peppy throughout.

Annayyochchinaado……

This is yet another bit song penned by the mastery of Chandrabose and this has been sung by Ramana. The song takes off on a rather trendy note and eventually, it drifts into a typical folk based number that would appeal to the mass audience. Sources say that this should be watched on screen. Interestingly, the voice has been rendered by the producer Dil Raju.

Me Me Meka….

One more bit song but this has not got a big appeal to ears but it could have been composed for creating some light moments on the screen. As expected, Chandrabose is the lyricist who has not only penned the words of fun but he has also sang this song which is another highlight.

Overall, the album is quite vibrant and captures various moods. There is love, college, melody, mass, folk, fun in this. This is a good combination of effective and soulful music and at the same time, the lyrics have been woven to give the correct feel. Though the major focus has been on appealing to the youth audience, there are one or two numbers that can appeal to the other categories of audience. This one can be taken home without a second thought.
