Khatarnak - Memorable mass tunes from Keeravani
IndiaGlitz  [Thursday, December 14, 2006]

Ravi Teja gave a big hit like Vikramarkudu, while Ileana had two big hits to her credit. Moreover, the film is being directed by Rajasekhar, who gave a big hit film with mass masala namely, 'Ranam,' earlier. Since this film comes from such a combination, it has evoked lots of expectations from the audiences. Keeping all this in mind, Keeravani has given mass tunes to most of the songs with a couple of melodies. The audio will definitely make a mark, indicating that the film would be a definite hit.

Maatante Maatera… Singer: Tippu

Keeravani has set this song to tunes on the lines of 'Chukkesi… Pakkesi... Mekkestaa…' which was earlier tuned for some other film (an old song of Nagarjuna's film). However, the lyric in the song has good literary value. The lyricist has made some remarks on the present day youth in the song. Though the song’s tune is old, the way music has been applied to this song is quite novel and it has good rhythm. It makes the audiences tap their feet, and the fans of Ravi Teja can shake their leg along with their favourite hero.

Aa Gaganamlone Tara Teeram Singers: Nani, Geeta Madhuri and Noyel

The tune starts with a western verse and after a little music, the song starts. It is a melody number and has a little slow beat. However, the song gives the audiences a good feel and has a fantastic rhythm. Especially the voices of Nani, Geeta Madhuri and Noyel have been synchronized excellently in the song. Keeravani needs kudos for a fantastic mix of western beat with melody. A must listen song in this album.

Doma Kudithe Chikungunya Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Chitra

This is another mass number and has a mention of the title. There is a heavy drum beat in the song, especially to attract the front benchers. The shehnai bit gives the audiences the hint that Keeravani is more fascinated towards our traditional instruments and the inclusion of the guitar tune sounds like just the right mix. There is also a tune which reminds Ravi Teja's popular number in 'Veede' (Mass tho pettukunte madatai poddi). The drum beat, besides the trumpet’s tune before the second stanza and the whistles, give it a mass touch.

Bujji Bujji Paapaa Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Gayatri and Noyel

This song has a mix of several old classic tunes, including Nenu Puttanu from Premnagar and some others. However, the mix is quite absolute and Keeravani has shown his expertise in mixing different tunes. Though the tunes are old, they are presented in a novel way. You are transported to places when you listen to the song. While listening to the tune, you will remember the old song, but by the time you recollect that song, Keeravani would have switched over to some other tune, giving the listeners a novel experience.

Love Chese Vallaki Singers: Ulaganathan, Venumadhav

This number is yet another mass beat. It has dialogues by Venumadhav in the interludes. The song looks like a situational song as the lyric has been scripted with a revelation of the story on the love between the hero and heroine. The music has a Jaltarang kind of sound, besides big drum beats. Besides these, there are the guitar and veena kind of stringed instruments. It sounds like a bit song as the tune is repeated twice to complete the full song.

Vestavaa Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Chitra

This is a typical tune that sounds like a Tamil song. However, Keeravani’s use of guitar and trumpet are worth listening to. The old 'Don' tune, 'Are Deewano… mujhe pehchano…’ can be heard in the middle. The song would definitely impress the front benchers and will make them dance before the screen as it has a very good
