    Jannal Oram - Preview:
    IndiaGlitz  [Wednesday, November 27, 2013]

After two years since winning the award for Best Script Writer, for the film 'Sadhurangam', director Karu Pazhaniappan is back to the pavilion, carrying yet another offbeat story wrapped in perfection for thorough entertainment. Last year, director Sugeeth helmed 'Ordinary' to fame in Mollywood, which spoke of a beautiful tale that a bus carried. And here we have Karu Pazhaniappan, bringing the service to Tamil audience, adding a flavours of K-town and serving the entertainment to Kollywood tastes. Starring Parthiban, Vemal, Vidharth, Poorna and Manisha Yadav in lead roles, 'Jannal Oram' is the Tamil remake of the Malayalam blockbuster 'Ordinary'.

While the cities are full of bustle, noise and pollution, life in rural locales is gifted existence; however, that has its own shortfalls too. Tamil Nadu's village on the hills, Pannaikadu forms the base for this film. The small town has only one bus service which plies people and possessions from Pannaikadu to Palani. Driver of the sole bus service is played by Parthiban, who comes around as a happy-go-lucky talkative extrovert Karuppu. Vimal takes charge as the conductor Subbiah, who is in contrast to Karuppu's character. With Samy the helper played by Vidharth, Nirmala Devi the teacher played by Poorna and Kalyani the passenger played by Manisha Yadav, 'Jannal Oram' is the story of the adventurous trips that the bus makes, with incidents thrown in from lives of the five key characters.

When Karu Pazhaniappan declared the film earlier this year, there was a popular belief that it is going to be similar to the Malayalam super hit 'Ordinary'. However, the director clarified that it has been altered to suit Tamil interest and that the film is only inspired from the script of 'Ordinary' and is not a crude remake. Speaking on the plot, Pazhaniappan revealed that the story is about how people completely alien to a new village are initially sidelined and later accepted by their fellow citizens, as an integral part of their small town. Narrating hard pressed situations on a lighthearted setting, 'Jannal Oram' has been guaranteed to be an entertainer for all ages. After 'Aanmai Thavarael' and 'Thanga Meenkal', Arbhindu Saaraa has been roped in to capture the beautiful locales of Pannaikadu and the exotics enroute to Palani, with the actors' lives intertwined in their common journey. Vidhyasagar has composed six songs with rural flavour for the film, and the album was launched last month in Kamala Cinemas, among august reception.

Apart from a theatrical trailer, 'Jannal Oram' also has a descriptive trailer which throws light on the characters lives and the plot. The latter one, a promotional video referred to as 'Bommalattam' has brought the ethnic rural puppet show back to life, and has trended more than ten thousand views since its launch in the social media, since the day of music launch. With such high volumes of viewership standing proof to the interest and curiosity about the film, at the blow of a ringing whistle, 'Jannal Oram' gears up for a joyous journey, starting this Friday.
