 Jagapathi Babu, despite the failures, has always been an actor to contend with. He always manages to get himself up from precarious positions.
There is no reason to doubt that ability now. His Brahmastram, in which he is doing a very powerful role, has all the makings of a gritty entertainer.
Jagapathi Babu looks like a man possessed. With brooding eyes and a thick beard, Jaggu has kindled the appetite of his fans and lay audience. He oozes a brooding menace. The agro is obvious, but understated.
His looks, his mannerisms, his dress, everything is different says director Sooriya Kiran.
This is the director’s third directorial venture (after Satyam and Dhana 51).
Neha Oberoi, the cute girl, plays the heroine (a college girl). Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ashish Vidyardhi and Rajkumar play the baddies. Nayana Harshita plays an important role --- a bar girl kind of vamp character. Kalabhavan Mani is a blind man and plays the father of the heroine. Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, M.S. Narayana and Raghubabu make up the comedy team.
Nukarapu Surya Prakash Rao is producing the movie under S.P.Productions banner. The music is composed by Vaibhav, a trio of musicians. Sooriya Kiran has written the story and screenplay, too.
Jaggu, whose best action film so far is Gayam, feels Brahmastram would beat that. ‘There is a new quality to this movie’.
The story is about the rivalry between Kota (an MLA) and Ashish Vidyarthi. Unable to outwit the former, the latter unleashes his ultimate weapon (Brahmastram) Jaggu.
Vaibhav, the music team, comprises Anand, the singer, Vedant, the guitarist and Balu, the sound engineer. They have worked with AR Rehman before. So the promise is there.
Nukarapu Suryaprakasa Rao had previously made Holi and Adhirindayya Chandram.
A love story, a comedy, and now an action flick, the producer sure knows how to mix and match.
The movie is slated for release next month.
