Only sometime back we had informed that the shooting of the Bollywood remake of Telugu superhit film ‘Okkadu’ - starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi - is slated to start coming January (2014). Now latest update is that this Boney Kapoor production has got a name finalised.

According to sources, the film, to be directed by debutant Amit Sharma, has now been titled as ‘Tevar’. Well, how this project got this name is an interesting story. It is said that this title ‘Tevar’ was initially registered with Yash Raj Films. When Arjun came to know this, he requested Aditya Chopra for it and in turn the producer handed over the title without any qualms.

In ‘Tevar’ Arjun plays an Agra-based, Kabbadi champ while Sonakshi essays the role of a simple, girl-next-door.

‘Okkadu’ which starred Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika Chawla and Prakash Raj in lead, became instant success and bagged several awards. It was later remade in Tamil as ‘Ghilli’ with Vijay and Trisha which also became a blockbuster hit in Kollywood. Earlier speculations were rife that Abhishek Bachchan will be doing the Bollywood version.
