The shooting of 'Cheekati Rajyam', directed by Rajesh M Selva, has been completed and the post production work is in full swing. Kamal Haasan, who also produced the film apart from playing the lead, said that they are planning to release the film in November. The trailer and making video of this film were launched at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. Kamal Haasan, director Rajesh M Selva, Madhu Shalini, Ramajogaiah Sastry, writer Abburi Ravi etc attended the event.

Kamal Haasan said, "As promised earlier I did a straight Telugu film. Telugu film industry made me a star. My journey to stardom nationwide began here.If you consider the percentage, Telugu people received me well more than the Tamil audiences. We have been working on this film for more than a year. I haven't revealed who would direct this film and Rajesh worked on the script, thinking I will direct it. But I offered him the chance to helm this project. He has been working for more than seven years in Rajkamal Pictures banner as an assistant director. It took 27 years for me to become a director. 'Cheekati Rajyam' will be a gripping entertainer. Ghibran gave an excellent music score. I haven't seen a film like this in the recent times. I am telling these words, not with pride, but with happiness. I am sure audiences would love it. We are planning one more Telugu-Tamil bilingual and will reveal the details soon"

Ramajogaiah Sastry said that he hopes 'Cheekati Rajyam' will be as big a hit as 'Aakali Rajyam'. Madhu Shalini said that she is honoured to have acted in a good role in Kamal Haasan's film.
