Actor – director Cheran's Mayakannadi did not do well at the box office. Known for family tearjerkers, Cheran tried to be different making a movie about a city-based young man with big dreams.

To set things right Cheran has decided to return to what he knows the best. This time around, he intends to make the sequel to Autograph. The film is going to be called 'Autograph 2'.

The previous film had three heroines- Mallika, Gopika and Sneha. Kanika made a guest appearance in the last scene as the girl who eventually gets married to him. In the sequel, there will only be two heroines- Gopika and Kanika.
