Chetan Bhagat, the eminent writer whose books have given B-town films like ‘Hello’, the blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ and forthcoming projects ‘2 States’ and ‘Kai Po Che’ will turn scriptwriter for ‘Kick’ - the upcoming movie of Sajid Nadiawala that stars superstar Salman Khan.

While ‘Kick’ is the remake of 2009 Telugu blockbuster movie with same name, Nadiawala felt that the remake version should be modified to suit the Hindi audience and so sought Bhagat’s help to pen the script.

Sharing the news, the celebrity writer wrote on his micro-blogging site thus - "Happy to share with you that I'll be writing the screenplay of 'Kick' starring Salman Khan and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. Kick is a about a guy who lives life only for his kicks, a powerful concept and a perfect recipe for a Salman-Nadiadwala blockbuster.

Have known both Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala for a while and been wanting to work with them. Couldn't have asked for a better screenplay debut. Will be adapting Kick from original Telugu superhit, with fair amount of changes as well. Huge expectations, need all ur support! Thanks!"

Both Sajid and Chetan apparently share good rapport. The rights of Chetan’s best-selling novel ‘2 States: The Story of My Marriage’ was bagged by the filmmaker, who also took over the directorial reins of the film from Shirish Kunder. Apparently later he thought of bringing in the writer on board for ‘Kick’ to do the changes in screenplay.
