Filmmaker & corporate honcho Rahul Mittra has signed Chitrangda Singh for his upcoming musical adventure Band of Mahrajas` directed by award winning director, Girish Malik. Malik`s last creation Jal had won many awards and accolades in India and internationally including securing an Oscar contention for Best Original music score and Best Picture.

While JAL was a dark and serious film about the scarcity of water with Band Of Mahrajas, Malik has stepped into the world of music and young aspirations with a dose of comedy to give the audience a wild ride with his upcoming musical drama.

It is a story about finding courage, chasing dreams that make no sense to the world and a journey of realizations!

The film is a musical journey where a fiery activist and popstar (played by Chitrangada Singh) is joined by three crazy young aspiring folk musicians from Punjab on an unusual adventure that changes their lives. It is a wild, riotous musical journey from Punjab to Pakistan celebrating the rich musical legacy shared by the two countries.

It is not the coming of age of three young boys...it`s a journey of coming of age of their music!

Work on the music of the film is already underway as it plays a major part of the film. From foot-tapping dance numbers to the soulful sufi ones, the film promises to be a musical extravaganza and will be featuring the top musicians and voices of the country and from world over.

The film is being produced by Raju Chadha & Puneet Singh, who are both confident of the positive outcome of this collaboration as they feel the film will have a wide appeal because of its lively spirit & touching storyline.

Rahul Mitra, head of Raju Chadha ,s film studio confirmed the news. "Band of Mahrajas is a very entertaining yet content driven film with great music. We are excited about this project as it marries content and commercial viability and that is the kind of cinema we would like to push. Audience is hungry for such films and we are confident of its successful run at the box office."

The film will go on the floor this November.
