Leading Kollywood cinematographer P.G.Muthiah has turned a producer with the film Raja Mandhiri` which is being directed by Usha Krishnan, a former associate of Suseenthiran.

In this short conversation,Muthiah recounts his journey as a cinematographer , his big leap as a producer and what made him take up 'Raja Manthiri' as his maiden step into the realm of film production.

"My dream of becoming a cinematographer was just a bud; it blossomed only because of my Family. My father is a school teacher and I emerged from a normal middle-class family but still my parents and my wife acted as the backbone for my successful Kollywood career!" says Muthaiah

The talented cameraman is a graduate in Visual Communications from SRM College of Arts & Science. After assisting five years under various cinematographers like Raja Rathinam, Ravivarman and SR Kathir, a gateway was opened for Muthaiah in the form of the critically acclaimed Tamil film POO` directed by Sasi. Following that, he had explored his skills in different genres such as Kanden Kadhalai`, Saguni`, Settai`, Aval Peyar Tamilarasi` and Chandi Veeran`.

And now the talented PGM as he is fondly addressed, calls his upcoming 'Raja Manthiri' as one of his best.

"Be it the script of Raja Manthiri, the amazing performance of the lead cast Kalaiyarasan and Shalin Zoya, scintillating music by Justin Prabhakar, and excellent narration of the script by debutante director Usha Krishna are all the integral parts of the positive buzz, the film has created. The script has all the elements of being an out and out family entertainer and that gave me the strong confidence to takeup production too. Yes I am a co producer of this film apart from cinematography. I am sure the audience will love Raja Mandhiri` because it will stand totally different from other village based scripts. It is a perfect carving for people in all age groups," he concludes.

V.Mathiyalagan and R.Ramya are bankrolling the project under Etcetera Entertainments banner and now P.G.Muthiah has joined the production team as one of the producers.
